Skill Development
Women from slum communities possess remarkable traditional skills, but they often lack opportunities, guidance, and resources to develop them further. DUWA KENDRA FOUNDATION provides meaningful opportunities to women from underprivileged areas of Pune to nurture their talents and become self-reliant.
Ari work, a highly intricate and beautiful form of embroidery, is an emerging trend in the fashion world. However, professional training in Ari work is usually very expensive. To make this skill accessible, the Foundation offers Ari work training at less than 50% of the usual cost, along with all the required materials.
Beyond training, the initiative also focuses on empowerment by encouraging and guiding women to start their own small businesses after completing the course, helping them move towards sustainable livelihoods and financial independence.
