Earning through Stitching
Clothes that are slightly torn or stained are not discarded. Instead, they are creatively upcycled by women from slum communities in Pune. These women transform old garments into 57 types of useful home and décor products — from durable doormats to attractive tote bags. What started with just 2 women has now grown into a meaningful livelihood initiative. Today, 16 women are engaged in upcycling these clothes, gaining steady employment and earning an income through their work.
